Singing for Change

Chorus Participates in Global Initiative

Led by teacher Kristin Marchilena, the Friends’ Upper School Chorus participated in Songs Around the World, an international initiative organized by the Playing for Change Foundation and the Afghanistan National Institute of Music.

Friends students recorded a version of “Zanan-e-Sarbuland,” a song based on a poem by renowned Afghan poet Sulaiman Laeq, and it was included in a video collaboration of the song featuring people around the world.

The Friends students are featured from the 8-second to the 22-second mark of the video.
