Grade 6 toured Central Synagogue on March 2 to learn about the history and role of Islamic and Judeo-Christain art and architecture in religious structures. In addition to the history of the synagogue, they discussed the mathematics behind the pattern work. Students have been studying Islamic design and tessellations as part of a geometry unit in their math classes.
