Join Student Guides for a History Walking Tour
Welcome in the Spring with a history walking tour. Friends families are invited to join 11th grade student guides for the annual Burrowing through the Boroughs event on Saturday, May 14. History students have designed interactive one-hour tours that will begin at 12:15 PM in the Friends Main Lobby. This is a family friendly event and a great way to connect with our Upper Schoolers. Tour descriptions are listed below.
Making a Scene - Go behind the camera as you explore locations from iconic films shot in the East Village. (Student tour guides: Jay, Lucas, Beau and Will)
Hidden Gems of Union Square - Explore the history and design of Union Square as a park reflected in its artwork, gardens, and monuments within the built environment surrounding it. (Student tour guides: Asa, Yeshe, Michael and Isabella)
Friends of Stuyvesant's Farm - Dig into the foundations of Friends Seminary as a Quaker school built upon the remnants of the intolerant Peter Stuyvesant's family's farm. (Student tour guides: Theo, Morgan and Patrick)
Activist New York - Join us in the footsteps of activists who participated in critical social movements near Friends Seminary. (Student tour guides: Jared, Lucy, Matteo, and Jayson)
