15th Street Meeting to Host September 11 Vigil

Members of the 15th Street Monthly Meeting invite you to join in observing the September 11 anniversary in the Meetinghouse.


Members of the 15th Street Monthly Meeting invite you to join in observing the September 11 anniversary in the Meetinghouse. The day's theme is: Peace Testimony, and Building a Community Based on Compassion, Non-violence and Tolerance.



Schedule of Events for Sunday, September 11, 2011 | 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Activities of the Day
9:30-10:30 Meeting for Worship, Meetinghouse
11:00-12:00 Meeting for Worship, Meetinghouse
12:30-1:30 Communal potluck and literature table in Common Room (Food also available throughout the afternoon)
1:30-3:30 Optional activities:
     - Continuing Vigil – Across the street on Rutherford Place
     - Extended silent worship in Meetinghouse
     - Messages on the Fence and other art work - Meetinghouse fence
     - Worship Sharing (1:30-2:00 for families with small children): “What happened on 9/11?” – Kindergarten room
     - Worship Sharing (1:30-2:30 for adults and youths)
     - “Friends’ moral obligations in time of war” – Cafeteria
     - Film, “A Widow’s Plea” (1:45, 2:15, 2:45) – Room 1
3:30-4:00 Gathered Vigil of all in Meetinghouse Courtyard
