Friends parents, grandparents, faculty and students came together to celebrate Teri Hassid, Lower School Head and former teacher, for her many years of service to the School during “Teri Hassid Day” on Thursday, May 22.

Students and teachers donned “I love Teri” stickers and were treated to ice pops at lunch.

The day culminated with an assembly dedicated to Teri’s work. Linda Chu spoke of her years teaching alongside Teri and asked students to reflect on and share what they will miss most about her. Judy Anderson led faculty and staff in an original song called, “Teri” sung to “Maria” from the “Sound of Music.” Lower School students sang two songs: Elder Joseph Brackett’s “Simple Gifts” and “One Small Step” by Sally Albrecht and Jay Althouse. Director of Admission Harriet Burnett, Teri’s longtime colleague and close friend, made special remarks.
Lower School students presented Teri with a portrait and a book of memories.

“There is no way I can express the way I felt today. We don't always know when the seeds of friendship are planted—but once they bloom we never forget it,” said Teri.

As a final gift to the School, Teri revealed the All School music video “Happy” edited by LS parent Nico Marcellino `90. Watch the video here. Check out more photos from Teri Hassid Day here.
