Friends Responds to Earthquake in Nepal

After Nepal suffered its worst earthquake in 80 years, Friends Seminary students were eager to lend a hand — particularly those who had visited the country for their Spring Break service learning trip.
After Nepal suffered its worst earthquake in 80 years, Friends Seminary students were eager to lend a hand — particularly those who had visited the country for their Spring Break service learning trip.

As shown on FiOS1 News and News12, some students chose to spend their Day of Service working with the Afya Foundation, an organization that ships medical supplies to people in emergency situations. With the help of volunteers from Friends Seminary, Afya Foundation aims to ship between ten and 20 pallets of medical supplies to Nepal within the next week.

Students will be collecting donations of aspirin, pen, pencils and notepads — simple, but very critical supplies that are being requested by rescue organizations in Nepal. You can help by dropping off those items in the red bins in the Lobby next week. Students will also be holding a jewelry sale and a bake sale on Tuesday, May 5 in the Lobby. All proceeds will go to rescue efforts in Nepal.
