Students/Teachers Participate in Quaker Leadership Conference

Five Friends Seminary students and two teachers traveled to Viriginia to to explore art and social change during the 18th Annual Quaker Youth Leadership Conference.
Five Friends Seminary students (Catherine ’15, Jessica '15, Kitty ’15, Riley ’15 and Peter ’16) and two teachers (Jen Blum and Ben Frisch) attended the 18th Annual Quaker Youth Leadership Conference in Charlottesville, Virginia from February 5-7.  In total, about two hundred students and faculty from Friends schools around the country met at Tandem Friends School to explore the theme of “Art and Social Change – Inspiring Peace and Justice.”  Students and teachers attended workshops on art activities, participated in community service and shared informally about the commonalities and difference between our Friends schools. The keynote speaker was Roselyn Berne, a University of Virginia professor and former head of Tandem Friends School.
