9:30-10:30 AM: Invitation to join 15th Street Meeting for Meeting for Worship
10:30-10:45 AM: Convene in Outer Courtyard at Friends Seminary
Destination for March Line-Up: The Friends school group is aiming to join the 5th contingency group: The Debate is Over. QUNO and other Quaker groups will also be in this area. If crowds have filled this section when we arrive, we will move to the back of the line. It really doesn’t matter where you march--just that you do!
The March begins at 11:30 AM and will follow this route.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE MARCH
Bring a Metro card to ride subway, some light snack and a reusable water bottle. There will be water stations along the route. It will be a long day – wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. Check the weather predictions the day before and dress appropriately.
WHAT NOT TO BRING TO THE MARCH
Do not bring signs, banners or flags that are carried on wooden sticks or metal rods, only cardboard tubing or string is allowed. Do not weigh yourself down with unnecessary clothing or a large backpack that you will have to carry all day long…travel lightly.
OTHER LOGISTICS: Travel with a buddy throughout the day. While we are going as a group, we are bound to get separated on the subway platform and in the streets. It’s better for people to form small clusters that travel together. We’re all heading to West 81st & CPW and will eventually end up in the same general vicinity. Halfway through the route, at 44th & 6th, marchers who are tired can exit. Portable toilets will be available along Central Park West and at the end of the route on 11th Ave.
SCHOOL LEADERS will carry a first aid kit and can be reached by cell during the March at these numbers.
