"We prepare students to engage in the world that is and to help bring about a world that ought to be."
Open to all students in Grades 7-12, the Chapman Academic Center, funded in part by a gift from the Class of 2008, supports the Friends academic program in a variety of ways: faculty “coaches” assist students with assignments, either by appointment or on an informal “drop-in” basis; peer tutors work with students in the Center under the supervision of the staff; and students choose to study by themselves in the quiet rooms dedicated to this purpose. Supporting the School’s curriculum and collaborating closely with faculty, the Academic Center serves all students – both those who excel and those who stride toward excellence.
