Alumni participate in the Friends community in many ways. Collecting class notes for News from Friends, helping with fundraising efforts, organizing reunion activities, lending philanthropic support and sharing expertise with current students are just a few examples. Let us know how you'd like to be involved or nominate a classmate for service by completing the form below.

RECOMMEND A FRIEND

FUNDRAISERS build the tradition of philanthropy among alumni to preserve the future of a Friends Seminary education.

Ongoing volunteers (no established terms) who educate classmates about the Annual Fund and the importance of alumni support. Responsibilities include setting class fundraising goals, soliciting and thanking classmates for annual gifts, helping identify future volunteers.
Lead reunion giving effort for milestone years. These volunteers are usually also Class Agents (see above). Responsibilities include developing a class fundraising plan with reunion milestones in mind, soliciting and thanking classmates for gifts.

ENGAGEMENT VOLUNTEERS support networking, service, and social opportunities for alumni.

Ongoing volunteers (no established terms) who maintain connections between classmates. Responsibilities include collecting class notes for alumni magazine, maintaining accurate contact information for classmates, finding “lost” alumni, and providing feedback and suggestions for alumni communications.
Organize reunion activities for their class during milestone years. Responsibilities include updating class list (finding lost alumni), encouraging classmates to attend Reunion, planning class gatherings during Reunion Weekend (supplemental to School organized activities).
Organize events for alumni outside of the NY metro area. Responsibilities include planning, promoting, hosting and often underwriting the event.
Share knowledge or talents in a particular field with current students. Some speakers visit individual classrooms and others present during a divisional assembly or host a field trip.
Organize and host specific alumni events (i.e. GLWD, Alumni Basketball Game, Auction, etc.). Responsibilities include planning, communicating and executing the event.
