Race and Stories Event

The entire Friends community is invited to join a night of reflection and dialogue on race on Zoom. Under the guidance of the chair of the Performing Arts department, a group of passionate Upper Schoolers gathered stories of racial experiences from members of the Friends community. Then, they transcribed those stories and turned them into powerful monologues on the diversity of ways in which Friends community members have experienced race at Friends and elsewhere. On Thursday May 13 at 7pm, the community will hear these stories and be able to engage with them through a talkback experience that we hope will be as informative as it is healing. This program was originally inspired by the race dialogues CPEJ hosted across last year's summer, the community-wide Meetings for Worship Bo held, as well as the Black@Friends Instagram account.
