Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Students work to reduce waste by 65%
In celebration of Earth Day and as part of Day of Service, Lower School classes conducted waste audits to analyze the trash, recycling, and compost that was generated in their classroom in a single day. The data collected by each class will be integrated into a school-wide waste audit, which will be used to pinpoint opportunities for waste reduction. Students practiced data collection, proper recycling habits, and creatively brainstormed ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle their waste. These efforts will help the School reach its goal of reducing waste at Friends by 65% by 2026.
