New York City Council Member Dan Garodnick of Manhattan's 4th District visited 4D before the Winter Break. After an introduction from Grade 4 parent, Mary Johnson, the Council Member talked with the class about the legislative process and how laws organize communities.

As a resident of nearby Stuytown, and contender for Council Speaker, Council Member Garodnick relished the opportunity to meet with some of his youngest constituents. The class asked questions on a wide range of topics including government salaries and constitutional amendments shortening the school year.
