"We prepare students to engage in the world that is and to help bring about a world that ought to be."

Spring Into Service

As a core value, service has always been celebrated by Friends. Each Spring, we look forward to taking a break from classes so that students, faculty and staff are able to engage in volunteerism through the Day of Service. This year, in response to the limitations COVID 19 presents, CPEJ would like to instead offer a medley of optional service events across the spring that will occur either after school, during the early evening or on the weekend. These various times will allow students, faculty, and staff, to find something that is more conducive to their personal schedules. The community-wide challenge will be for everyone to find at least one way to participate in the “Spring into Service” initiative.

We are excited to launch Spring into Service! Each month, community members can find a calendar of virtual and outdoor, distanced opportunities to participate in. Some of these opportunities will be grade specific and others will be community wide offerings that are family friendly. CPEJ will work with the Student Service Committee, student club, and organization leaders, as well as the Parent Association Service Committee. As with all of our events, Spring into Service initiatives will be shaped around our Head, Hearts & Hands model and provide opportunities to deepen our understanding of the world that is, build empathy, and take direct action to bring about a world that ought to be.
