"We prepare students to engage in the world that is and to help bring about a world that ought to be."

Thank you for your interest in Friends Seminary! We’re excited to share the Friends experience with you. From now until the start of the 2022-2023 school year, unexpected openings may occur, and we always encourage interested families to submit an application without a fee. Please call the Admissions Office at (646) 979-5041 or (646) 979-5042 for the Fee Waiver Code. If we are able to process an application, we will request fee payment at that time.

Given our mission-driven commitment to support an economically diverse student body, Friends has dedicated significant financial resources to make Friends affordable for all interested families. To learn more about Affordability and Financial Aid at Friends, please click here.

Kindergarten and Grade 9 are our key entry grades while Grades 1-8 and 10-12 are dependent on attrition. At the moment, admissions remains a hybrid process: virtual interviews and on campus tours following acceptance and before the enrollment decision is due.

To begin the process, please review the grade-specific information below. If you have questions, email admissions@friendsseminary.org.

For parents who do not speak English as a primary language, we are happy to provide translators for Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Arabic speakers. Please contact the Admissions Office before the scheduled interview so that we can arrange for a translator.
It is each family’s responsibility to ensure that all application materials have been received by Friends Seminary. Ravenna allows families immediate access to the status of their application. No decision can be made by the Admissions Committee until an application is complete.

Friends Seminary actively promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in all its programs and operations, including admissions, financial aid, hiring, and all facets of the educational experience. To form a community which strives to reflect the world’s diversity, we do not discriminate on the basis of race or color, religion, nationality, ethnicity, economic background, physical ability, sex, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation. Friends Seminary is an equal opportunity employer.
