"We prepare students to engage in the world that is and to help bring about a world that ought to be."

Lunar New Year

Proceeds from the Lunar New Year Celebration contribute to the Henry Lee ’43 Memorial Scholarship. His family established the fund in 1994 to honor him on his 70th birthday as the first Asian-American student to graduate from Friends. Following his death a year later, the fund became a memorial scholarship. The Lunar New Year celebration has become a beloved tradition for the community that includes games, performances, and the opportunity to highlight cultural traditions present in many of the countries in Asia that celebrate Lunar New Year.
