Middle School Mathemeticians
Friends recently had 92 MS students participate in the American Mathematics Competition!
The AMC 8 (American Mathematics Competition) is a competition in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers. Students apply classroom-learned skills to unique, non-traditional and often outside-the-box problem-solving challenges in a low-stress and friendly environment.
Each year, hundreds of schools around the country participate in the AMC 8. This year, close to 100,000 students participated nationwide, of whom 92 were Friends students in Grades 6-8. Congratulations to all of our participants! Below is a list of some students who performed particularly well on this year’s AMC 8.
