Kindergarten is an annual entry grade. Children applying for Kindergarten must be five years of age by August 31.

Kindergarten Checklist

1. Create your account on Ravenna: Visit Ravenna and create an account to begin your application. When creating your account, please use a unique email address for each parent/guardian to ensure receipt of communication.
2. Submit your Application for Admission form: Please submit an Application for Admission form with the non-refundable $75.00 application fee. Application fee waivers are available to families seeking Financial Aid and faculty/staff.
3. Schedule your interview: Once the Application for Admission form is submitted, you can schedule your interview through Ravenna. The Admissions Office will follow up to be sure your interviews have been scheduled. We do our best to meet with all families who have expressed an interest in Friends Seminary. Note: Any application received after November 16, 2026 is not guaranteed an appointment and is subject to an interview waitlist.
   • Applicants will be seen in small groups for one hour.
   • Parent(s)/Guardian(s) will meet simultaneously with a member of the Admissions team.
4. Additional Steps: Once your applicant and parent/guardian meetings are scheduled, please complete the Additional Steps listed in Ravenna by January 8, 2027.

5. Kindergarten Early Notification: Early Notification is available for Kindergarten applicants. Early Notification applies to children of current sibling families, current faculty and staff, alumni and Members of the Religious Society of Friends. Please fill out the Early Notification Form to begin the process.

We do our best to meet with all families who have expressed an interest in Friends Seminary. Note: Any application received after November 16, 2026 is not guaranteed an appointment and is subject to an interview waitlist.

   • Each meeting will be approximately 30 minutes.

In addition, group interviews will be conducted at this time. Students will be asked to complete a brief writing sample. Please allow up to 90 minutes. We do our best to meet with all families who have expressed an interest in Friends Seminary. Please note that any application received after November 16, 2026 is not guaranteed an appointment and is subject to an interview waitlist.
